Aug 16, 2014 - Community meeting in Century Ranch Clubhouse, at 11 a.m. to discuss the below-described music event. Officials from Colusa County will be present. Come and let your voice be heard!
"Woodstock-like" music event coming to East Park Reservoir, Lodoga end, in September. Event will feature round-the-clock music for three days--Thursday, September 18, to sunrise on Monday, September 21, 2014. The event is expected to attract "3,000 visitors, mostly from the Bay Area, Chico, and the Sierras."
According to this article, the Board of Supervisors' primary reason for approving a permit for this event is to raise revenues for the county's East Park Reservoir fund. The county will be charging $20 per person to enter the reservoir. If 3,000 people actually come, this will raise $60,000 for the fund.
There are several issues pointed out in the article--i.e., potable water, sanitation, security, and noise. You may want to read the article to see how they are addressed.
